What's your story?
I have been bodyboarding since I was 12 years old in Durban, South Africa. At the time it was just for fun and ended up getting into competition. I won the SA boys u15 division twice and went on to compete for the first time on the world stage in 2012 where I won a gold medal in the Dropknee Division at the ISA World Bodyboard Games.
In that time I finished high school and went on to get a Bachelors in Social Housing from UKZN. From there I transitioned and worked hard to get onto the world tour where, to date, I have won 6 World Tour events, 22 podium finished and 10 years of international competition. Now, my focus has turned to working with brands to create content across all socials, showing my ability and life around my new home in the UK and abroad.
What is the biggest lesson your sport has ever taught you?
More than I could have ever imagined. Importantly, the ocean will always keep you humble and hungry for more…Â
What is your favourite song that helps you focus?
I was never the kind of athlete to listen to music before a heat. But, when I am home and need to concentrate, drum and bass tends to do the trick!
If bodyboarding hadn’t happened, where do you think you would be?
I’ve always loved taking photos and have a deep passion for being both behind and in front of the camera. I definitely would have found myself any industry that has those two aspects.
What makes you Foolhardy?
Whether it be charging waves or making content, I love to do everything with the most “just send it” attitude… Watch my videos, you’ll see what I mean!
We'd love to hear from you!
